There
is only one way to heaven and that is the believing that we all have sinned,
Jesus died for our sins and rose again and to make a promise to follow Him and
his teachings. So if that’s the case, why go to church?
There
are several reasons not to go to but the main one that I hear people say is
that, “I don’t need to go to church because it is between God and I and prayer
is private anyways.” However, reading the above verse, I see that human
interaction is very important. “You
Teach” you can’t teach if you don’t meet them. “Admonish one another” you can’t
do that alone. Where do you do that? Where do you need to be to really invite
the Holy Spirit to help you teach and admonish. “Hmmm I don’t know, maybe
Church!” I say in my best Church lady accent.
None
of us know when the day we will depart this earth however we need to stay as
connected to one another in Christ name and Church is the place for that. I don’t
think it could be any clearer than this, And
let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not
giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging
one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:24-25.
I
like what a friend of mine asked me the other day, “Do you know how many
churches are in this valley?” I responded, “ohhhh hundreds.” To which he
replied, “Nope only one, we just meet in different buildings.” We are the
Church and God has asked us to be relational.
Lord
thank you for my Church and all those who support it. Thank you for the many
friends at church that help me, iron sharpens iron. Thank you for the amazing
example of Jesus and his words that help and encourage me each and every day. In
Jesus name, Amen.
